Passage Fishing

The Pumicestone Passage is one of Queensland's best recreational fishing spots - even better since commercial fishing was banned some years ago. From the beach north of the bridge you'll catch anything from whiting, bream, flathead, chopper tailor through to school mackeral. Further up into the passage the best fishing is by boat in the deeper holes with both sand and mud crabs on offer as well as bream, whiting and flathead. Once again fresh bait is best with plenty of yabbies at low tide.

Hot Spots: Bongaree - Bream. Toorbul sand banks - whiting. Coochin Creek sand banks - flathead.
