One of the best game fishing grounds in the world can be reached in less than an hour from Bribie Island. Most of Australia's game fishing grounds are remote and isolated. Whereas just a short journey from the island tranquillity of Bribie the sheer adventure of ocean fishing takes over.

Black marlin, sailfish and tuna are popular catches for game fisherman in the waters off Moreton Bay. Nearby Flinders Reef is a magnificent sandstone reef and a haven for divers who are drawn by its 110 species of corals and wide array of marine life. Regular dive excursions depart the island for encounters of the underwater kind. For a marine experience closer to the island, the waters of Pumicestone Passage Marine Park and Moreton Bay are a popular destination for boats of all sizes. Cruisers, sailing boats and catamarans cluster in the lively waterways of the Passage, while anglers throng the fishing playground of Moreton Bay.

And for those lucky enough to live on the water at Pacific Harbour, you don't even need to move out of your own back yard, the canals of Pacific Harbour are alive with fish. Drop in your line or a crab pot off your jetty and you are likely to get lucky.
